Can You Trust the Bible? | Understanding God’s Revelation
Seeing the World Through a Biblical Lens
How do we know God—and can we really trust the Bible?
In a world filled with competing voices, opinions, and skepticism, one question rises above the rest: Is Scripture reliable? In this message, we take a deep dive into how God has revealed Himself to humanity and why His Word remains the ultimate source of truth for life.
How God Reveals Himself
The Bible teaches that God has not remained silent. Instead, He has made Himself known in three powerful ways:
1. Through Creation (Natural Revelation)
The world around us points to a Creator. From the vastness of the universe to the complexity of life, creation declares God’s existence, power, and design.
2. Through Scripture (Special Revelation)
God went further—speaking through prophets and apostles to reveal His character, His plans, and His truth. The Bible is not a random collection of writings but a carefully preserved and purposeful revelation of God’s will.
3. Through Jesus Christ (Divine Revelation)
The clearest picture of God is found in Jesus. As Hebrews teaches, God has spoken finally and fully through His Son—the Word made flesh—who came to reveal truth and bring salvation.
Can the Bible Be Trusted?
Many today question the Bible’s reliability, claiming it has been altered, mistranslated, or fabricated over time. This sermon addresses those concerns head-on by exploring:
- The accuracy and preservation of Scripture
- The inspiration of biblical authors
- The consistency of the biblical message
- The authority of God’s Word in every area of life
Rather than being shaped by culture, we are called to let Scripture shape our worldview.
Why This Matters for Your Life
Understanding God’s revelation isn’t just about knowledge—it’s about relationship.
- Creation shows us that God exists
- Scripture shows us who we are and what we need
- Jesus shows us how we can be saved and restored
This message reminds us that the Bible doesn’t just inform us—it transforms us, revealing our need for a Savior and pointing us to the hope found in Christ alone.
A Call to Respond
Psalm 19 shows us that while God’s Word is perfect, we are not. It exposes our need, our struggles, and ultimately our need for a Redeemer.
That Redeemer is Jesus Christ.
Through Him, we are not only shown the truth—we are invited into a life-changing relationship with God that lasts forever.
